Please join us this coming Tuesday and enjoy a specifically designed Yoga class dedicated to healing and awareness.

 March 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM

 At Body of Light

131 Millburn Avenue, Millburn, New Jersey

Jake Silverman has Dystonia. Jake Silverman is 12 years old and lives in Millburn. He does not have the ability to move his muscles as he chooses. As a yoga practitioner, we find joy and freedom in the alignment of our bodies and minds. And we often feel challenged when we don't quite get into a pose. Imagine losing this ability to move with complete freedom.

Dystonia is a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable, painful spasms in one or more parts of the body.  Treatment rarely brings remission and there is no known cure. Dystonia affects more people than Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington’s disease and Lou Gehrig’s disease. One-third of all dystonia patients are children.

On Tuesday March 18 at 11:00 AM come with your good hearts and bodies. All levels welcome. As we set our foundations and move from quietness to expansiveness we will use our practice as an offering for healing for Jake, his family and for all the other children who suffer from Dystonia. We include our own healing in this offering.

To register please send a check for $50 made  payable to The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation, Inc and send to Body of Light, 131 Millburn Ave, Millburn, NJ 07003. Or e-mail Jutta Ferrer, the organizer of this event at juttaferrer@netscape.net.

Can't make the event, please send a contribution in any amount along with your good wishes and prayers for Jake and all children suffering from Dystonia.
